It was a banner night, and one full of stage time, for one of Country Music’s most unique and talented artists.
“Space Cowboy”, from Musgraves’ album Golden Hour, took home the trophy for Best Country Song. Golden Hour then earned Kacey some more mantle-material, beating out Chris Stapleton’s From A Room: Volume 2, which was thought to be the favourite for Country Album of the Year.
The winning wasn’t over there for Kacey, Golden Hour was also nominated for the night’s biggest prize – the all-genre award for Album of the Year. A very surprised Musgraves could be seen saying “what? what? what?” in disbelief before delivering yet another speech.
And perhaps THE highlight of the show, was Kacey performing alongside Little Big Town, Maren Morris, Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry in a tribute to the one and only Dolly Parton.
